Hi all,

Just a quick note to let you know what's currently being worked on at the moment:
  • FontWEM - provides new graphics commands for plotting outline fonts
  • ColourPicker - now you can use the standard 24-bit colour picker
  • Nested WIMP Support - use all the new features of the nested WIMP
  • FontMenu - produce hierarchical font menus
These are pracitcally finished and may be sold as a cheap "expansion pack". As for the main system:
  • OLE - a WEM providing *proper* OLE support, will be included with main program and integrated into Subroutine Editor so that you can edit a file, save and reedit without having to click on "Edit code" again
  • Speed imporvements - reimplemented the intersection checking code from BASIC to Assembler, now 3 times faster
These two improvements will be tested and finished and then v2.24 will be launched (later this month). Upgrades will be available via the web. NB - it is important that the Name and Password fields shown by "Upgrade" are copied *exactly* as shown into the web page.

Next on the list of improvements:
  • WindowEd - needs a massive overhaul. Suggestions welcome. Another possibility is adding the necessary ActiveApps support to Tony Houghton's WinEd, which he has now released under the GNU Public Licence (GPL).
If you have any ideas on anything mentioned above, or indeed anything else about WimpWorks post it to the list for discussion.

Cheers,

Andrew
